Fortunato Orlando – Senior Associate Principal

The experienced and expert engineering staff at Severud Associates is our most important asset. Therefore, we are proud to announce that Fortunato Orlando has been promoted to Senior Associate Principal. Fortunato has demonstrated a deep commitment to his profession and the firm.

Fortunato Orlando arrived at Severud Associates in 1996 after working as an engineer in his native Italy for two years. With almost 30 years of experience, he has become well versed in most structural systems and materials. Fortunato has engineered many important and large-scale projects, including the new corporate headquarters at 270 Park Avenue, the Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park, and both the original and recent redevelopment of 3 Times Square, all in New York City. His other significant projects include the residential developments Greenwich Lane in Manhattan and Halletts Point in Queens, AirTrain JFK/LIRR Jamaica Station addition and renovation, also in Queens, and many international projects.

This talented engineer, along with his colleagues, will keep Severud Associates at the forefront of the structural engineering profession, using best practices for safety, innovation, and economy in their designs and providing engaged service to clients.
